Services related to the prefeasibility study for biomass-based heat & power (CHP) plants of at least 350 kw at rice mills in the Dominican Republic

PROJECT SCOPE

Assessment of the potential uses of biomass in the Dominican Republic, in the very specific sector of rice mill factories. The study has been commissioned by UNIDO, implemented the project “Stimulating industrial competitiveness through biomass-based, grid-connected electricity generation”, with a total duration of 48 months and endorsed in December 2013 by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) under its Climate Change Focal Area.

CENER ROLE

CENER was the coordinator of the project relating both to technical and administrative issues, being in charge of the overall project execution and adequate performance of the activities, as well as on the management and relation with UNIDO (Contracting Authority).
