Development of a biomass gasification synthesis gas fermentation technology to produce advanced biofuels

Six project phases to be executed during five years:

• Phase 1: Development of the synthesis gas fermentation process on a laboratory scale
• Phase 2: Installation of a synthesis gas purification system in the BIO2C Gasification Unit
• Phase 3: Upgrading of synthesis gas fermentation products to produce advanced biofuels
• Phase 4: Development of the syngas fermentation process on a pilot scale
• Phase 5: Upgrading of the synthesis gas fermentation products on a pilot scale
• Phase 6: Techno-economic and environmental validation of the process
