To establish a centre of excellence in the field of 2nd & 3rd generation biofuels via the uniting of leading EU research infrastructures.

To implement networking activities, common databases, business plans, joint research, and in both thermochemical and biochemical conversions.

To make available by transnational access high quality installations on biofuels.

To perform both in biochemical and thermochemical biomass conversion pathways:

• Joint research activities related to biomass characterisation, advanced measurement techniques, new biorefinery approaches, process modelisation and sustainability assessments
• Networking activities
• Provide open access for external researchers to CENER infrastructures
