Theoretical course on Biomass and Waste Gasification (Confidential Company)
2024
CENER ROLE
20-hour in-person course on biomass and waste gasification at the client’s facilities, including:
1.Fundamentals of Solid Fuel Gasification: Explanation of gasification, its principles, and key processes, including biomass and waste treatment, chemical reactions, environmental impact, and product characterization. Gasification and incineration are also compared from an environmental perspective.
2.Commercial Gasification Technologies: Presentation of various gasification technologies, such as fixed-bed systems (updraft and downdraft), fluidized bed, and entrained flow, highlighting key companies and developments in each area.
3.Design of Bubbling Fluidized Bed Gasifiers: Technical aspects of designing these gasifiers, including material selection, feeding systems, fluid dynamics, energy efficiency, safety, and occupational health.
4.Operation of Bubbling Fluidized Bed Gasifiers: Explanation of the operation of these gasifiers, from process diagrams to operating parameters, fuel control, temperature, pressure, and gas quality.
5.Gasifier Maintenance: Details on preventive and corrective maintenance routines, including refractory materials, wear parts, and procedures before and after operation.
6.Gas Cleaning Technologies: Methods for removing particles, tars, and trace compounds (N, S, and Cl) to improve gas quality.
7.Applications of Gasification Gas: Analysis of the uses of the generated gas, such as fuel, synthesis gas production, methanol, ammonia, Fischer-Tropsch, and hydrogen generation.
